New Place

So I know it has been a while... I'll go ahead and update that Bobby and I have moved to Jonesboro. We've been here since December, so I guess that's been about 5 months. Bobby and I have learned that Jonesboro really isn't as bad as we thought it would be. We knew we were supposed to be here for some reason, and maybe the past few months have reconfirmed that. Bobby and the bookstore has been doing well, he's busy right now because the semester is almost over. I've been doing my internships for school, my first one is done, and I just have 8 more weeks of my second one! Oh, and I have a J-O-B!!! I was offered a job at week 2 at the place I am currently interning. I really like it because I get to work with kids with autism, behavioral difficulties, and just overall developmental delays. These kids are really good kids, it's just sad when their parents don't treat them as they should. So I start my job after my internship and then I graduate in August! It's so hard to believe that I will FINALLY be done! After almost 6 years, school will be over with!
Bobby and I became an aunt and uncle for the second time this month. Brynlee Slade was born on the 9th. Bobby and I got to go to Conway on the 10th and meet her. Nieces are fun because you can play with them and spoil them all you want and then just give them back to mom and dad when they are fussy!
Bobby and I watched Marley and Me last night, and for those of you who are dog owners, or even those who aren't, I highly recommend this movie! It was such a good movie and it really shows how dogs are such a big part of their owners lives. Bobby has been pretty upset with Phoenix this week, so I told him that we had to watch this movie so that he would appreciate our dogs more :) Of course I cried like a baby at the end, and all I wanted to do was go hug Simon and Phoenix (I think Bobby did too). Dogs are great, they always seem to love you no matter what.
This is Teddy and Simon, they are brothers....Teddy is my brother's dog, and Simon is mine. We've had these dogs since I was in 5th grade. Teddy doesn't live with Bobby and I anymore because of the apartment situation here in Jonesboro, instead he lives with my mom and dad. Mom reports that Teddy doesn't like thunderstorms, and he's a little hard to live with. Mom, maybe you need to watch Marley and Me! :)And here is Phoenix! He's a 68lb. black chow. Bobby and I took him for my Grandma because she could no longer take care of him. We love him, and he has an awesome personality. He talks to you, and he also has a gimp leg because he got hit by a car when he was a puppy. He definitely does not have a normal chow's temperment. When his fur grows out (with the exception of his bottom, he has male-pattern baldness, and no it's not mange) he looks like a bear cub. We thought he was dying last year, but it turns out, all he needed was a heating pad! I bet that thing put about 10 years back on his life! Anyways, like the movie last night, most of our favorite and funniest memories involve our crazy and geriatric dogs!

The Long Awaited House Update

Bobby kept asking me when I was going to post the pictures of our finished house.....well here they are! Our house is currently on the market, because we are moving to Jonesboro on Saturday. If it were up to me, we would stay here in Conway in our "brand new" house, and enjoy it for a few more years. Instead we are going on an adventure to see rice fields, huge mosquitoes, and not a lot of rolling hills. Can you tell I'm excited!?

Here is the same view from a few posts ago....remember all the cabinet doors? Well they are gone and here is a view of the dining and living rooms.

Those cabinets are now freshly painted in our kitchen! We put in brand new countertops, a new sink, and the new floors.
Well, I uploaded about three more pictures, but for some reason they aren't here. Maybe they are too big. I'll put them in another post. I just wanted to show the work and progress that we have made. It was a definitely a family effort! Thanks Aaron Jones for the wonderful pictures!

Baltimore, D.C., and more!

So I know I'm completely horrible at this whole blog thing, but I really don't have much to write about except for school....and I don't think anyone wants to read about that. But......Bobby and I went on vacation! Yay! Last week over fall break we went to the east coast to visit Brian and Crissy and to go site-seeing in D.C., Baltimore, Annapolis, and much much more. Bobby got me this vacation for my birthday and it was so much fun. I had a blast hanging out with my husband and I had so much fun with Brian, Crissy, and their little girl Addison. I think my favorite part was seeing Bobby get spit-up on and he really didn't seem to mind too much! :) We packed so much in those four days that I have forgotten what we did on what day. So I'll just post some pictures and write something about them.

This was about 2 hours after we got off the plane, we were ready to see D.C.!

GUSTAV!!! And some remodel pics

So I just got done sitting on the bedroom floor for an hour with our 3 geriatric dogs IN THE DARK!!! When I got home from work today the power was out.....Since Bobby has the nice flashlight in Jonesboro with him, I had to dig for some flashlights that had dying batteries. Dumb Gustav....all the wind and rain......
Anyways, the power is on now and I am blogging because someone has actually found our blog! I'm kind of excited. Well since I said I would po
st some pictures of what we have been up to lately, here they are:

This is our dining room....nice huh? The maze of white squares are our kitchen cabinet doors! I didn't know how I was going to paint the backs and fronts, and Mom gave me the great idea of using all of our paint cans to prop them on! Thanks Mom! Oh, and all that jumbled up stuff in the background is all of the furniture that goes in 4 rooms....I am so ready for the remodeling to be done!

Here's the kitchen. I put the first round of cabinet doors up last night. You can't see most of them because they are the small ones that go up near the ceiling. Countertops go in this weekend!

These last two are what we got done this weekend! Bobby's family and the Tribetts all came over and helped. We definitely couldn't have gotten it all done without them! Thanks guys. Oh, and we still aren't done with the floor.....quarter-round still has to be put on. I am really getting excited to get it all done. But, sad day, we are putting the house on the market as soon as the projects are all done.

Okay, maybe I'll start now....

Well, I love to read other blogs, so maybe I should start my own. I didn't really want to start blogging until Bobby and I had kids, but since I am so bad at writing in my journal, maybe this would help me to organize my thoughts.
Where to start? Well, I am currently in Grad school at UCA and I can't wait to be finished! Bobby and I are moving to Jonesboro when I finish this semester in December. Then, we will be all alone in Northeast Arkansas where mosquitoes are as big as small birds. YIKES!!! Oh well, I look at it as being an adventure....hopefully an enjoyable one!
So anyways....back to the present, our house is currently in shambles because we are getting it ready to be put on the market. We have torn up the carpet, the kitchen is a mess, and I am just ready to be done with all the house projects. Maybe I'll post some pictures later.
